I'm an audio engineer and producer in Nashville. I've been engineering since 2006 and I run TD Mastering, my own mastering studio.
I started out in Burbank as an assistant engineer to Dave Aron at Hollywood Way Studios, working on tracking, mixing and live sound. Back in Nashville I engineered records, ran audio for a large church campus, and from 2020 to 2024 produced shows for Apple Music Radio, including 130 episodes of Southern Accents Radio with Dave Cobb. These days I master and mix records, edit and mix interview podcasts, and teach audio at SAE Institute in Nashville.
Since 2019 I've been an approved Apple Digital Masters provider. I mix in Dolby Atmos and completed the AES Immersive Audio Academy in 2021.
How I master
The mix leads. My job is to make it translate everywhere it will be played without changing what you made. I balance loudness against dynamics instead of chasing a number, narrow the low end where vinyl needs it, and listen for noises, clicks and DC offset before anything goes out.
